MSPL Limited, () the flagship company of Baldota Group was founded in 1961. Today, it is one of the India’s leading iron ore mining companies and holds the distinction of being the country’s largest producer of wind power. MSPL's sales during the year ended on March 31, 2007 amounted to 4.88 million metric tons of iron ore products comprising 2.36 million metric tons of high grade fines, 1.10 million metric tons of medium grade fines, 0.97 million metric tons of high grade calibrated lump ore and 0.44 million metric tons of medium grade calibrated lump ore. MSPL also owns and operates wind farms with a current installed capacity of 215.75 MW. MSPL's wind farms are situated in Harpanahalli, with a capacity of 46.25 MW, Chitradurga, with a capacity of 38.35 MW, Harihar with a capacity of 6 MW in the State of Karnataka, Satara, with a capacity of 1 MW and Dhule with a capacity of 20 MW in the State of Maharashtra and with a capacity of 30 MW at Surajbari in the State of Gujarat. == History == MSPL was originally founded by the late Mr. Abheraj H. Baldota in 1961. Prior to incorporating MSPL, Mr. Abheraj Baldota was a trader in non-ferrous metals. He was the President of the Bombay Metal Exchange in 1960. Unfortunately Mr. Abheraj H. Baldota was involved in a series of illegal transactions and was held accountable for several allegations of embezzlement, leading to his early retirement.
